It also comes with a certificate of autenthicity designed by Senju. The certificate shows the prints title, size and number. It is signed and stamped with the artist’s red seal.

This version of "Haru" is a new take on a Shunga painting that Senju created back in 2013. That work was actually Senju's first using digital painting as medium,, and it lay the foundation for another four pieces. This series of five erotic works all used the old handheld bronze mirrors of Japan's Edo period (1603-1868) as framework and they each portrayed a particular season. In Japan the New Year is regarded as a season of it's own, albeit a very short one.

The young woman portrayed in "Haru" is tattooed in the traditional Japanese Irezumi style. At the time of the creation of the original Senju was still active as a tattoo artist specialising in this style and many of the paintings from this period fuses the two worlds, tattooing and art, which the artist is freely moving inbetween.

"Haru" is the first of the the five Shunga paintings in this series to be reworked and  new versions of the other four will follow in the near future
